Sophie and Cédric wanted to get involved in every step of the design of their realisations. And all this without making any concession...
Barely having arrived on the streets of the antique market event, we feel like a little girl again. The stallholders fascinate us, and their furniture has our imagination running wild. We chat with them, linger in their stalls so that we can get a good look at everything – crockery, sofas, armchairs and even lamps. From covered – un-used – furniture, to that rare piece that the collectors are all coveting. We marvel at the beauty of the wood, the workmanship that links the pieces to a specific period and the stories that the stallholders share with us. The great thing about these temporary exhibitions is that you can delve a little deeper into the story of a designer. This time, it is the work of Pierre Paulin that is being honoured – the chance to have another look at his classic pieces and to take a seat on each of the models on display.
