Paris will be celebrating the work of designer Gio Ponti with the Tutto Ponti exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs from 19 October to 10 February. An occupation that would soon no longer be sufficiently fulfilling for him. Ponti did not just want to design the Italian house. He wanted to put his knowledge to work for a “better life” and, above all, to create. From his desire was born a lifestyle. A post-war renaissance, for which he designed furniture and everyday objects in a timeless classic style. Inexpensive furniture for La Rinascente and the Superleggera chair produced by Cassina, as well as the Pirelli tower in Milan. Because private and public orders did not stop pouring in.
